- Taiwanese WiMAX carrier Global Mobile announced that the company has signed a cooperation agreement with Korean KT, according to a May 31, 2011 report by Central News Agency of Taiwan. As per the agreement, Korean users are able to purchase Global Mobile's devices in Korea and use the devices when visiting Taiwan.

- Four Taiwanese WiMAX carriers, Global Mobile, Vmax Telecom, Vee Time, and Tatung InfoComm, are seeking mergers, according to a June 1, 2011 report by the Commercial Times of Taiwan. The four companies plans to merge into two carriers, aiming to combine operating resources.
